Rapture

I create soaring, leaping, and falling figures in order to try and capture the speed at which a human body moves through air. These moments of suspension between Earth and sky allow me to address the concepts of weightlessness and density, antiquity and novelty, spirituality and physicality. My mission as a creator is to make art that resonates with the audience in a way that evokes memories and associations and activates the imagination of each individual viewer.

I was fortunate enough to collaborate with one of my classmates, Julianna Fielding, an incredibly talented costume designer. She helped me create the perfect outfit to wear to my thesis show opening which was made using the same technique I use to make paint and designed to capture the airy quality of my paintings.
