Prints

I first started printmaking in high school when I was fifteen and immediately fell into learning as many types as possible. I was fortunate enough to go an arts school where I was able to learn relief printing, the printing press, intaglio and aquatinting, lithography, and screen printing. In college my printmaking became more experimental, transforming monoprints into screen prints into collages and paintings.

These city scapes were made from monoprints I collages together using a needle and thread. I have always loved city scapes and architecture and wanted to combine that imagery with my fascination of dreams and to create these semi surreal compositions.

A theme I have worked with for many years is illustrating music, another very important influence on my work. This etching was inspired by the line ‘I had some dreams there were clouds in my coffee” from Carly Simon’s You’re So Vain.

This lino-cut was inspired by the Queen song, “Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy”
